William “Bill” Barry Murphy Sr., 72, of Tupelo, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born May 10, 1948. He served in the US Navy. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Saltillo. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and joking around with people. He loved his family and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his his children, William Murphy Jr. (Valorie), Janet Spitler (David), and Brenda Rhynes all of Tupelo; 9 grandchildren, Noah Murphy, Summer Murphy, John W. Murphy, Thomas Owens, Michael Fager, Shawna Robertson, Bradley Spitler (Kayla), David Rhynes Jr. (Tammy), and Scott Parker (Shannon) and 9 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances L. Murphy and his mother, Margeret Peggy Murphy.
Visitation will be from 12:00P.M. to 2:30P.M. Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Noah Murphy, Thomas Owens, Scott Parker, David Rhynes Jr., Michael Fager, and Bradley Spitler. Honorary pallbearers will be John W. Murphy, Shawna Robertson, and Summer Murphy.
