William Bernard Pugh, age 87 of Dora, passed away December 7, 2022. He is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva McDonald Pugh, daughter, Leslie Ann Pugh and his parents James Lonnie Pugh and Cora Alma Stone Pugh and his siblings, Pauline Thompson, Carl Pugh, Louise Grammer and Ruben Pugh. Survivors include his stepsons, Ellis McDonald (Carolyn) and Bruce McDonald (Darlene), son James Pugh and his daughter Linda Jean; grandchildren Joe McDonald (Zandra), Jina Smith, Penny Goodwin (Max) and Wesley McDonald (Gail); his beloved great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as his nieces, nephews and many extended family members and friends especially, Kathy Grizzard, to whom the family wishes to offer special thanks for the love and care she gave to him. Bernard was born in Arkadelphia, AL. He was a doting husband who loved his wife deeply. Bernard was lovingly known as “Panard” to his family. He was intelligent and meticulous researching and planning any project he began to perfection. Bernard enjoyed fishing and was a fan of Atlanta Braves baseball and Alabama football. Bernard proudly served our great Country in the United States Air Force. Funeral services to honor his life will be held at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 2pm. Visitation will be held one hour to service time. Military honors and graveside service will follow at Morgan Cemetery. Bishop Bruce LeVan officiating.
