William Benjamin “Bill” Burnette, 69, died Sunday, December 15, 2013, at his home in Peaceful Valley community. He was born June 22, 1944, in Arkansas to Thomas and Lois Thompson Burnette. He was a supervisor at Day-Brite and recently retired after 38 years of service. He was a third degree Mason and belonged to Masonic Lodge No. 97. He enjoyed gardening and working outside. He was an avid football fan.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Tracy McMillen officiating. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, William Duane Burnette (Marie) of Peacefull Valley; two grandchildren, Priscilla Burnette of Peaceful Valley and Carey Messer of Mantachie; six brothers, Thomas W. Burnette Jr. of Peaceful Valley, David Dwight Burnette of Beedeville, Ark., George Burnette of Hickory Ridge, Ark., Joe Newby of Memphis,Tenn., Oscar Newby of Jonesboro, Ark. and Greg Newby of Wynne, Ark; and two sisters, Linda Kay King of Batesville, Ark. and Doris Thompson of Wynne, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Burnette, who died August 30, 2013; one son, Jeffrey Burnette, who died July 31, 2013; one brother, Thomas “Pete” Burnette; and his parents.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 16, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral home in Fulton.
