William B. McCrory, Jr., 89, of Huntsville passed away early Saturday. Dr. McCrory served in the US Navy during WWII. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Birmingham-Southern, graduated from Southern School of Optometry and was a beloved optometrist until retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. McCrory, Sr. and Eva Estelle Stabler McCrory; wife, Maxine McCrory; and son, Donald McCrory.
Survivors include son, Alan McCrory, MD and wife, Molly, of Huntsville; sister, Ellann McCrory, MD, of Ft. Payne; brother, Lee McCrory and wife, Bonnie, of Semmes; grandchildren, Megan and Emily McCrory of Daphne, and Cole and Cayla Whitehurst of Huntsville; and one niece, Esther McCrory Petronis and husband Colin, of Mobile. He is also survived by his companion, Dean Davis of Pelham.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14 at Magnolia Cemetery, in Greenville.
