Mr. William Arthur Cochran Jr., 83, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at his home following a brief illness. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Greenview Funeral Home followed by the service at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Reverend Roger Houston officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. Cochran was born in Colbert County to the late William A. Cochran Sr. and Myrtle Celia Cochran. He was a member of the Central Heights Baptist Church and retired from NAFCO. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Mary Kathleen Cochran; and sisters, Sarah Hill and Faye Mason. He is survived by his sons, Dale W. Cochran (Susan), of Muscle Shoals, and Timothy Lynn Cochran (Kim), of Florence; brothers, George Cochran, Galveston, Texas, Morris Cochran, Milton, Fla., Don Cochran and Homer Cochran, both of Florence; sister, Grace Lindsey, Florence; grandchildren, Whitney, Caleb, Joshua, Lynea and Telia.
Pallbearers will be Trigger Oakley, Doug Baskins, Kenneth Brewer, Harold Baskins, Herby Harrison, John Sandy, Leo Kilburn and Don Burleson. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Johnson, Jimmy Patterson, Gene Dale and the men’s adult Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the building fund of Central Heights Baptist Church.
