  William Arlond WebbWilliam Arlond Webb, 99, Tuscumbia, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, surrounded by his family at Cottage of the Shoals nursing home. Visitation will be Sunday, October 20, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bubba Cole officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens, Tuscumbia.

Born and raised in the Russellville, Franklin County area, Arlond lived most of his life in Tuscumbia. He loved God and was a faithful member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals for sixty-four years, serving as a deacon as well as many other positions. He loved going to church and encouraging others as well as enjoying the fellowship of his brothers and sisters in Christ. Arlond retired from TVA after forty-two years of service, where he worked as a lineman and lineman foreman. He worked line construction as well as line maintenance for seven years in Mayfield, KY, and another thirty-five years in Muscle Shoals. Arlond served in the US Navy in the South Pacific during World War II aboard patrol craft PC-476 as a Quartermaster third class. Arlond was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Evie Webb; brothers, Hoyt Webb and Ted Webb; his sisters, Mary Horton and Martha Brown; and granddaughter, Allison Rittman. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Mary Lee Mansell Webb, as well as son-in-law, Chester Venable.

Arlond is survived by his brother, Homer Webb, and sister, Gail Jones. Also surviving are his son, Terrell Webb (Delilah); daughters, Donna Venable and Lori Rittman (Mark); grandchildren, Monica Grubbs (Scott), Millie Wiginton, Rebecca Lynn King (Louie), Bill Webb (Kaitlyn), Daniel Venable (Tabitha), Traci Saavedra (Luis), John David Rittman (Delaney), and Andrew Rittman. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

The family gives a special thank you to all who reached out and supported daddy during his illness. For all the visits and cards, we thank you. Special thanks to The Neighborhood at Sheffield, Cottage of the Shoals, and Hospice of North Alabama for their kindness and professional care.
