William Alton Davis, age 68 of Double Springs, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024 at University Hospital Birmingham.
He was born February 12, 1955 to Leburn and Gertrude Salter Davis. William was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and brother. He was a racecar driver and a very kindhearted and giving person. He loved Christmas, especially the lights.
The visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs. The funeral service will be Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home with the burial following in Mt. Ebron Cemetery.
William is survived by his wife, Bonnie Davis; son, Ricky Davis (Angel); daughters, Cherry Lacy, April Meigs (Craig); grandchildren, Paige Clayton, Summer Turner, Samuel Meigs, Elijah Meigs, Devin Thacker, Josh Thacker, Kristen Thacker, David King, Sierra King, Danielle Clayton, Logan Smith, Katlyn Smith, and Dylan Smith; great grandchildren, Connor Clayton, Avery Clayton, Layla Thacker, Ella Young, Lexie Thacker, Brantley Thacker, Matthew Thacker, Levi Thacker, Hunner King, Paisley Clayton, Violet King, and Case Clayton; sister, Joyce Clark; niece, Renee McMahan, Sheila Willis; Nephew, Chuck Clark; and a very special nephew, Joe Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leburn and Gertrude Davis; son, Joey Davis; grandparents, William and Lucy Salter, William and Amendy Davis; great granddaughter, Josette King; brother-in-law, Edgar Clark.
