Willena Afton York – Obituary

Willena Afton York, 92, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016, at The Meadows. She was born December 31, 1923, to Ezra and Viola Wallace Harden. She was a homemaker and minister’s wife and was Methodist in belief. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, teaching Sunday school, and being active in the women’s ministry at church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, at the Friendship United Methodist Church at Peppertown with the Rev. Mark McNair officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include one son, Robert Lee York of Cape Girardeau, MO; two daughters, Peggy York Wiggs and Lou Cindy York, both of Fulton; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bro. Paul York; one grandson, Carey Wiggs; two brothters; one sister; and her parents.
