Willard Preston Emerson, age 89, of, Hodges, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, October 05, 2024, at Burns Nursing Home. He was born in Alabama on April 05, 1935, to William Willard and Ruby McKinney Emerson.
He was a member of New Mt Carmel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He also served his country in the United States Army and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was loved deeply by his family and his community and will always be remembered for his heart for peoples and his love for the Lord. He will deeply be missed.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 09, 2024, from
12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at New Mt Carmel Church.
The service will be at 2 p.m. October 09, 2024, at New Mt Carmel Church with Bro. Tony Wood officiating. The interment will be at Old Mt Carmel Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his sons, Marty Emerson, Douglas Emerson; parents, William and Ruby Emerson.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Marylon Emerson; son, Greg Emerson (wife, Terri) grandchildren, Melanie Heineman (husband Rob), Erika Emerson (fiancé, Nick Glenn), Will Emerson; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Anna, Becca, Paul, Hayden; sister, Jolene Emerson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
