Wilburn Franklin Stone departed this life on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at the age of 79 years, 10 months, 11 days. He was born in Henderson County, Tennessee on March 10, 1936, the son of the late J. D Stone and Irona Maness Stone. On December 25, 1955, he was united in marriage to Alma Beatrice Stone, who survives. They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Wilburn retired from Johnson Controls, where he worked for 30 years. Prior to that, he did some construction work. He had lived in Jacks Creek since 1961. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with family. You could find him on Wednesday nights eating fish at the local Reagan Café with his family. He was a member of BB&L Pentecostal Church in Reagan, TN.
Wilburn is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alma Beatrice Stone of Jacks Creek, TN; children, Vicki Dickson and husband, Danny of Reagan, TN, Debbie Bishop and husband Danny of Jacks Creek, TN, Shirley Ross and husband, Danny of Jacks Creek, TN; sister, Betty Eaves of Lexington, TN; brother, Bobby Stone of Reagan, TN; grandchildren, Brian Dickson, Bridgette Fields, Kelly Swafford, Misty Kendrick, Bradley Ross, and Brittany Carnell; great grandchildren, Dalton Swafford, Savannah, Hunter, Carson, Wyatt Fields, Tambrei and Makenah Carnell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill James Stone and Glenn Stone.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Sunday, January 24, 2016 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
