Funeral service for Wilburn Dewitt Sharpton, 89, of Eva, Alabama, will be Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scott Sessions officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Interment will be in Cullman City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Wilburn was born April 23, 1934, in Cullman County, to Dayton Elmer Sharpton and Mary Eva Fulenwider Sharpton. He passed from this life on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
Preceding him in death were his first wife and mother of his sons, Jennie Holaway, second wife, Gladys Townsend, his parents and a brother, Alton Sharpton.
He was employed by Grief Brothers in Cullman Alabama, as a Supervisor, prior to his retirement. He was a United States Navy Veteran, who loved fishing, gardening, working with cattle. He attended First Church of the Nazarene and was a graduate of Saint Bernard College in Cullman, Alabama.
In honor of his Military Service, “Taps” will be played at the graveside.
