THE SHOALS-It appears there is a widespread outage of cell phone service throughout the area. Outages range from Mississippi to Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.
AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile users across the Southeast reported outages Tuesday afternoon.
Though some users reported that their phones displayed several bars of signal strength, they were still unable to complete calls or use mobile data.
According to AT&T Director of Communications Lance Skelly … some customers across parts of the southeast are “experiencing wireline and wireless service issues. We are investigating the cause and working as quickly as possible to restore service.”
A T-Mobile representative says they have a server down and are working to resolve the issue.
A Verizon Wireless spokesperson says a connectivity issue is causing a service interruption. The spokesperson says Verizon’s engineers are aware of the issue and are working with vendor partners to resolve this issue quickly. However, there’s no estimated time of resolution yet. The outage is widespread.
There is no word as to when service will be reinstated.
