May 31, 2021 – Memorial Day Ceremony honoring veterans of all wars at the Circle of Valor, sponsored by American Legion Post 31 at 11am.

June 1- July 2, 2021 – Emergence is a juried show that seeks out artists who are working in unique ways, pushing creative processes to the breaking point, and have something important to express through their work. June 1– July 2, 2021 – Helen Keller Art Show of Alabama is an annual traveling juried art show. The show is open to students from throughout the state that have visual impairments, blindness, and or deaf blindness. Tennessee Valley Art Museum is offering free admission this year to education, healthcare, and first responder workers as part of our Arts for the Frontline program.

June 4-5 (Fri & Sat) —African Heritage Festival, Willie Green Center, Tuscumbia. Kickoff music, 5pm Friday. Explore African art and fashion, culture, crafts and food. Live demos traditional drumming, dance by Uhuru African Dancers. Live music will feature Exodus Reggae Band, Shelly “Saxman”    Williams, Garner Brothers, the Midnighters, & others. June 5 (Sat) – all day—Muscle Shoals Street Car Show, Spring Park, Tuscumbia. One of the largest antique & vintage car shows in Alabama displays all makes and models of street rods through 1988.

June 5, 2021– 7pm— From Bach to Brubeck—Ritz Theatre, Sheffield. Joanne Smith, Professor Emeritus of Piano at University of Michigan, presents an enjoyable, interactive program that takes us from the music if Bach to Brubeck (and a little beyond)! June 19, 2021 – Kids Fishing Rodeo, 9-11am—Riverfront Park, Sheffield. The rodeo is free to all children 12 and younger. The young anglers must be accompanied by an adult and provide their own fishing tackle. The rodeo is held in conjunction with the adult KingKat Fishing Tournament held that day on Pickwick Lake. June 24-27 – (Thurs, Fri, Sat) – Helen Keller Festival, Tuscumbia. Parade and music downtown on Thursday evening with local artists; concerts in Spring Park on Friday & Saturday, featuring Kerry     Gilbert Band and Lindsay Ell.

July 31, 2021—W.C. Handy Top Artist Showcase & Celebrity Concert  will consist of a full day of concerts, shopping with vendors, kid’s activities, car, jeep, and motorcycle contests, and more held at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. A Portion of the proceeds from this event will support community outreaches sponsored by Distinguished Productions.

July 22 – 31, 2021 – The Last 5 Years, TVAA’s annual SummerStock musical at the Ritz Theatre, Sheffield,  is a beautifully heartbreaking and uniquely told story of love and loss.
