Tribute to Earl “Peanutt” Montgomery

Get ready for the Earl “Peanutt” Montgomery Tribute Concert on May 4, 2023, at 7 PM at The Ritz Theatre in Sheffield, Alabama. This event pays homage to one of the most prolific musicians and songwriters from the Muscle Shoals region and features a powerhouse lineup of renowned artists performing some of Montgomery’s most celebrated songs. Recall LaGrange

May 5-6, 2023

LaGrange College was Alabama’s first state-chartered college in 1830. It later became a military institute and was known as the “West Point of the South.” Union Forces burned the college and the town of LaGrange in 1863. The LaGrange Living Historical Association hosts Recall LaGrange each year, which presents living history events that commemorate the college and town. The free event includes tours of a log cabin village, wagon rides to historic LaGrange Cemetery, music, arts and crafts, and vendors. Moonshine Tasting, Music, Tours, Food, and More at Dawson Distillery

May 5-6, 2023

Dawson Distillery will host a tour/tasting May 5-6, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, May 6, 2023, we’ll have the famous country music entertainer Georgette Jones, daughter of country legends George Jones and Tammy Wynette, from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m. You can listen to music and grab a bite to eat at Boonas food truck! The distillery raid reenactment will take place at 2 p.m. at the Lagrange College Site Park, just right up the mountain from the distillery. So y’all, come on out and enjoy a fun time on Lagrange Mountain!

Materials (paper, magazines, scissors, and glue sticks) will be provided, but you’re encouraged to bring your own—including vintage books, photographs, ticket stubs, and other ephemera.
No experience is necessary, and drop-ins are welcome! Taryn will help you get started, provide tips, and have examples on hand for inspiration. This event is free and open to the public.
