Avant: Five Contemporary Voices
January 31 – March 11, 2023
This exhibition will feature five contemporary female artists: Dariana Dervis, Chiharu Roach, Miriam Omura, Tracie Noles-Ross, and Melinda Crider. Exhibition hours: Tuesday-Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 10am-5pm. Admission: $5 for adults, $3 for students, free for TVAA members.
Artist Panel & Reception for “Avant”
February 4, 2023
Tennessee Valley Museum of Art, 511 N Water St, Tuscumbia. The Tennessee Valley Museum of Art will host an Artist Panel & Reception for Avant: Five Contemporary Voices on Saturday, February 4, from 3 to 5 pm, with the panel discussion starting at 4 pm. Admission to the TVMA is $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free for Tennessee Valley Art Association members.
Night to Shine (Shoals In-Person Event)
February 10, 2023
1000 Gattman Park Dr, Muscle Shoals. Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience centered on God’s love for people with special needs ages 14 and older. We are Chapel has partnered with the Tim Tebow Foundation to be a part of this worldwide movement that is uniting churches of different denominations worldwide with the common goal of celebrating people with special needs. The event will take place Friday, February 10, at 6 PM.
5th Annual Northwest Alabama Farm Toy Show
February 10 & 11, 2023
Clarion Inn, 4900 Hatch Blvd., Sheffield. (256-381-4710 for Toy Show Room Rates) Collectors from across the country will be present to display and sell farm toys such as die-cast toys, pedal tractors, and other related farm toy memorabilia. Display competition, door prizes, and pedal tractor raffle. Hours: Friday, 5 pm-8:30 pm.; Saturday, 8:30 am-2 pm. $3 Admission, Kids 12 & under are free.
Movies at the Ritz
February 10, 14, & 24, 2023
111 W 3rd St, Sheffield. Celebrate love with your valentine (or a group of your galentines) by watching one of your favorite movies on the big screen at the historic Ritz Theatre. Purchase your tickets in advance, or get them at the door. Doors will open at 6:30 pm, and Movies at 7 pm. Concessions, including wine, will be available. Tickets are $10, available at www.tennesseevalleyarts.org and the door.
