Wesley V. ShumpertOn Friday January 6, 2023, Wesley Vankellious Shumpert, was called
home. He was born November 28, 1985, in Tupelo, MS to his
mother Francine Shumpert, and father Mike Barnes.
Wesley graduated from Saltillo High School in 2005 and continued
to receive an Associate Degree form Itawamba Community College.
At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined
Ebenezer Baptist Church in Guntown where he remanded a
dedicated member until he departed this earthly life. At Ebenezer
he was a member of the male choir and very activity in many rolls.
Wes enjoyed fishing, cooking (more so on the grill), taking family
trips and being with friends. He loved Big! He was an LSU/New
Orleans Saints Fan.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His parents; daughter Serenity
Love Murrell. His wife of 6 years Roshedria Penrose Shumpert; 3
stepchildren: Antonio Price of Baldwyn, MS; Ailyah Price of Saltillo,
MS; Airiel Penrose of Nashville, TN. His aunts and uncles: Jacqueline
Shumpert; Angela (Larry) Stone; Phyllis Shumpert; Anthony
Shumpert; Cedric Barnes; all of Guntown, MS; Brenda Turner of
Tupelo, Susan (Fred) Sadler of Three Way, TN; Henry (Cynthia)
Shumpert of Southaven, MS. His in-laws: Jimmy Dale and Judy Tyes
of Baldwyn. Sister and brother in-laws: Jimmy Penrose (Jr); Nyesha
Tyes; Rod Tyes; Jason Welch all of Baldwyn, MS; Lavanda (Marcus)
Crayton of Tupelo; Vickie Beene of Ripley, MS. A special aunt Betty
Jo McGaha of Baldwyn, MS. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J. W. and Minnie
Shumpert, James and Ethel Barnes and 2 uncles Ronnie Barnes and
Robert Turner.
