Wesley Thomas “Tom” Olive, 87, of Florence, Ala., passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013. He was retired from TVA and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of Christ, American Legion and Woodmen of the World.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 20, 2013, from 6-8 p.m., at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Brother Ralph Mann and Brother Clinton Busler officiating. Burial will be in Rogers Chapel Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Reba Olive, brother, Laramore Olive.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Margaret Givens Olive; son, Ron Olive and wife, Gay, of Florence; daughter, Carolyn Eady and husband, Denton, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sister, Christine Phillips, of Killen; grandchildren, Jay Olive, of Madison, Gil Olive and wife, Jennifer, of Madison, Sheryl Mabry and husband, David, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Capt. Daniel Eady, of Fort Hood, Texas; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Logan and Charlee Beth Olive, Brandon and Kelsey Mabry.
Pallbearers will be Jay Olive, Gil Olive, Dub Givens, Steve Pruitt, Danny Forsythe and Don Bevis. Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Rinehard, Dennis Wilson, Wayne Phillips, David Olive and Capt. Daniel Eady.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregiver, Stephanie Moore and the staff of Hospice of the Shoals.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
