Wesley Ray McDougle, age 84, of Muscle Shoals, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 9, 2023. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, December 13, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at the Tuscumbia location of Morrison Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jim Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Ray was born on May 19, 1939, in Sheffield, Alabama to the late Unes and Evie Johnson McDougle. He was a lifelong resident of the Shoals area and retired from the Sheffield Housing Authority. Ray loved everything outdoors, but his greatest passion was fishing. He was known for “Jugging.”
Ray and Ina were faithful members of Revival Tabernacle in Sheffield. In addition to his parents, Ray was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lamar McDougle and Russell Randolph.
Survivors include his wife of over 64 years, Ina Skains McDougle; sons, Mike McDougle and wife Brenda, and Chris McDougle and wife Jill; grandchildren, Caleb McDougle, Wes McDougle, and Molly McDougle; brother, Paul McDougle; and sister, Patricia Adkins.
Pallbearers will be Caleb McDougle, Wes McDougle, Tony McDougle, Tim McDougle, Devin Adkins, and Mark Adkins.
