Wesley Odon “Sonny” Whitten – Obituary

Wesley Odon “Sonny” Whitten , 65, died Saturday, November 29, 2014, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born January 24, 1949, to James and Polly Young Whitten. He was a truck driver and a mechanic before becoming disabled. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Fulton. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an avid fisherman.

Services will be at 2 p. m. Sunday, November 30, at the McNeece – Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. J.C. Beene officiating. Burial will be in the Palmetto Methodist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Anthony Whitten (Missy) of Saltillo; the mother of his son, Kathy Huling (Michael) of Fulton; four sisters, Patty Young (Harry Vinson), Betty Farris of Pontotoc, and Debbie Parker (Kenny) and Helen Crumpton, both of Tupelo; three granddaughters,Courtney Harnage (Patrick) of Fairview, Megan Whitten and Savanna Whitten, both of Dorsey; one great-granddaughter, Makinleigh Harnage; one great-grandson, Micah Harnage; special friends and caregivers, Angie Estes, James Robbins, and Dwight Wages.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Harnage, Joe Price Young, Dwight Wages, James Robbins, James Baily, and Joe Price Young, Jr.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Saturday, November 29, and from 11 a. m. until service time Sunday at McNeece – Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
