Wesley Larkin Rhodes of Waynesboro, TN was born September 29, 1925 in Johnson City, TN, the son of the late Larkin H. and Grace M. Fortner Rhodes. He was united in marriage to Blanche Marie McKinney on January 24, 1947.
Mr. Rhodes was a retired electrician, a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, a member of the Cornerstone Church in Collinwood, Tennessee and served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946 during WW II.
Mr. Rhodes departed this life on Friday, March 14, 2014 at his home at the age of 88 Years, 5 Months, 14 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche Marie McKinney Rhodes of Waynesboro, TN; daughters, Linda G. Rhodes Jones of Waynesboro, TN and Kathy E. Rhodes of Holiday, FL; grandchildren, Robin Graves and Natalie Dopirak, great-grandchildren, Rachael Lard, Daniel Graves, Rebecca Daniel, Blake Graves and Wesley Logan; great-great-grandchildren, Alexys and Jaxon Lard, Aubree and Caden Graves, and Addyson Daniel, Mayleigh Daniel and Kinsley Daniel.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rhodes was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Wesley Rhodes.
Services will be Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 3:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Daniel Graves and John Hodum officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 1 pm until service time at the funeral home.
