Wesley Eugene Dorris, Sr., age 86, of Greenbrier, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Thursday, September 12th, in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Bro. Ivan Bell officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenbrier Cemetery with Wesley Dorris, Jr., Buddy Grant, Gary Dorris, Patrick Jones, Davy Dorris, and Roy Biggs serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Wednesday, and again from 11am until time of the service at 1pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Dorris was born September 6, 1938, in Robertson County, to the late James Wesley Dorris and Lula Belle Biggs Dorris. He was a Diesel Mechanic most of his life working on power equipment.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dorris was preceded in death by a son, Dennis K. Dorris; granddaughter, Tiffany Ann Breaux; brothers, Gerald Dorris, Porter Dorris, Phineas Dorris, and Roy Biggs; and sisters, Flora Belle Dorris, Dimple Prather, and Marie Matherly.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lillian Dorris; son, Wesley E. (Janis) Dorris Jr.; daughter, Sherri (Buddy) Grant; grandsons, Patrick Jones, and Davy Dorris; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Frances Smith; and his loving dog, JoJo.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier is in charge of these arrangements.
