Wayne T. Riley, age 88, husband of Donna Boshers Riley, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

 

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Cynthia McGowan officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on August 15, 1935, in Obion County, Kentucky, Wayne was the son of the late Walter Riley and the late Robin Eakes Riley. He served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Hawaii and served as a color guard and military police. Wayne dedicated thirty years of his career at Monsanto Chemical Company before later transferring to The Mount in Ohio where he worked 11 ½ years before retiring in 1995. His passion was farming on his 69-acre farm where he raised a garden, chickens, goats, and cows. He also loved quail hunting with his sons. Wayne was a long-time member of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church. A strong and caring person, Wayne will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

 

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Donna, of nearly fifty years, son, Thomas (Jill) Riley of Spring Hill, grandchildren, Michael Prange, Kaytie Edwards, Ashlyn (Clay) Hawkins, Cody (Sarah) Riley, Janna Beth (Josh) Brown, Preston Riley, great grandchildren, Mathis Hawkins and Myatt Hawkins, and his adopted God Family, Meagan “Lilo” King, Carma Gibson, Kashton King, and Zavion King.

 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Wayne T. Riley, II, daughter, Tamela Prange, and siblings, William Riley, Linda Stanfill, Wyonna Anderson, and John Riley.
