Wayne Hunt – Obituary

Wayne Hunt, 76, died Friday, November 2, 2018, at the North MS Medical Center Hospice Facility. He was born November 19, 1941 in Amory to Bluford and Louise Hunt. He was raised in Mooreville and graduated from Mooreville High School. He served in the Mississippi National Guard. He worked for the Tupelo Police Department for several years, served as a Justice Court Judge in Lee County for 12 years and worked for Tigrett Steel for 35 years, retiring just a few months ago due to his illness, as their warehouse manager. Wayne was an avid Ole Miss Rebel fan and an avid outdoorsman. His greatest pleasure though was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 AM Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Leslie officiating. Private burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 5 – 7. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

He is survived by his two sons, Bryan Hunt (Stephanie) and Brad Hunt (Jessica) all of Tupelo; two sisters, Brenda Cox and Janice Coniff both of Oneonta, AL; one brother, Lamar Hunt (Janice) of Jackson, TN; his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Bryson (Kensey), Hayden, Ella, Haley, Lindsey (Tony), Tyler, Logan, Blaine and his great-grandchildren, Harper and Ava.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jimmy, Bobby and Jerry.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
