UNA financial aid counselors will be leading our discussion on how to pay for college. Teens, parents, and adults planning to go to college are all welcome.
The Richness of Alabama Culture and Harper Lee

Dr. Wayne Flynt, Professor Emeritus in the Department of History at Auburn University is one of the most recognized and honored scholars of Southern history, politics, and religion. At this special event, he will be discussing his two latest books, Alabama: The History of a Deep South State, Bicentennial Edition and Mockingbird Songs: My Friendshsip with Harper Lee.
The free event is co-sponsored by the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities, with funding from the Kelly Mosley Endowment for Draughon Seminars in State & Local History.
Medicare Help Session

Do you have Medicare or will soon be enrolling in Medicare for the first time? Linda Newkirk from the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments (NACOLG) will be leading a free seminar on Medicare at the library. She will cover eligibility requirements, types of Medicare, and how to enroll. She will also answer your Medicare questions and will help you determine how to get the coverage you need. Linda Newkirk is a Program Manager for SHIP, the Alabama State Health Insurance Assistance Program.

Booked for Lunch/Novel Conversations Book Clubs: Murder on a Girls’ Night Out

This adult fiction book club meets on the second Tuesday of each month, and we’re offering two different times to suit your schedule. The Booked for Lunch group will meet at 1:00 pm, and the Novel Conversations group will meet at 5:30 pm. For the October meeting, we’ll be discussing Murder on a Girls’ Night Out by Anne George.
