Warren Allen BarryWarren Allen Barry was born September 26, 1956, in Washington State, Whidbey Island Navy Base.  He passed on to be with our Lord on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.

Warren accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized in 1995, and is a member at Bethabara Baptist Church in Fayette County.  Warren has been active in Church for many years and has served as an adult Sunday School teacher.  When his daughters were young, he served as youth director.  Warren served our country in the Navy Branch during the Vietnam era.

Warren was employed by Emerson (Chromalox) for 10 years.  He worked in the maintenance department and soon became the supervisor over the maintenance department.   In 2004, Warren started his own business, Alabama Automation and Service.   He built a well established company as a programming engineer and made drawings for electrical control panels and occasionally robotics.  One year, he helped the robotics class at the Lamar county vocational school prepare for a robotics competition, and they won.  He retired in January 2021 to enjoy traveling places with his wife of 34 years, making time for us now as our daughters have families of their own.

The Lord had a different plan for Warren.  Warren also has been a Mason for 25 years at the Vernon lodge # 389.   Warren was an avid hunter, and he and his wife shared this interest for many years.   Warren also was a competition shooter for a few years and had asked his wife to be his partner as he had taught her the skills of shooting rifles, pistols, and crossbows.

Warren had a heart of gold.  He helped so many people we could not list them all. He was private about his generosity.  For several years, Warren, with his family made a yearly donation of food from Alabama Automation and Service to the food pantry in Vernon that supplied food to the Lamar County citizens for six months out of the year.  He never bragged about any of the donations nor would he ever take pay to help someone.  He knew good deeds is not what gets you to Heaven but as a Christian, Warren did want to share his blessings with others.

Warren is preceded in death by his father, Joe D. Barry; his mother, Mary Ann Larsen; his sister, Kathy Barry; and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 13, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Kenneth Stough officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Fayette.  Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.

Active and honorary pallbearers will be Warren’s dearest family and friends.  Active pallbearers will be Chuck Russell, Doyle Mitchell, Tim Yerby, Erik Marandola, Neil Moran, Bill Spear, Kendall Avent.  Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Barry, Pat Marandola, Tony Marandola, Clyde Elliott, Myles Clark, Jack Huffard, Danny Nuessen, Steve DeWespalara , Jay Shepler, James Bratton, and Jimmy Ovenell.

Warren’s leaves behind his wife Angie Elliott Barry; two daughters, Chrystan Gibson and Lara Beth (Garrett) Crosby all from Vernon, AL in the Crossville Community; three grandchildren, Lennox Gibson, and Sawyer and Sadie Crosby; his sister Adene (Pat) Marandola, of Sedro-Woolley, WA; his brother Thomas (Theresa) Barry, of Julian NC; his mother-in-law, Audie Elliott; a host of nieces and nephews; and one great-niece.

The family wants to thank each and everyone for such great hospitality as we have traveled this journey. A special thanks to Northwest AL Cancer Center and Northwest Hospice.  Warren had a request not to cry over his dead body because that is not him laying there.  He is in Heaven!

In lieu of flowers, donations may be carried to Vernon Sav-More which will later be given to a private charity.
