Mrs. Wanda Sue Johnston Dean, age 77, went home to be with the LORD on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, with her husband, Joel Jerome Dean Sr. by her side. They were married for 60 years and 9 months. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Children: Cynthia (Hughlon) Cornelison, Connie Clark, Joey (Denise) Dean, Clara (Tony) Vines. Grandchildren: Quentin (Vanessa) Cornelison, Derek Cornelison, Katrina (Michael) Dynak, Tyler (Sarah) Dean, Miranda Dean, Chris (Jenn) Venable, Darryl Nathan (Jennifer) Venable, Holly (Eric) Stewart; 15 Great- Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Shirley Johnson, and Sandra (Steve) Law; 2 Brothers, Danny (Joy) Johnston, and Phillip (Carol) Johnston.
She was preceded in death by: Mother, Lora Ruth Seabolt Johnston; Brother, Grady Johnston Jr. and his twin.
Funeral services will be held at the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Randy Evers officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dementia and Alzheimer’s Association.
