Wanda Jean Walker Garrett, age 87 of Belvidere, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at St. Thomas West Medical Center in Nashville. She was born on November 7, 1935, in Lincoln County to the late Robert Lee and Nannie Pearl (Hall) Walker. For about ten years, she was employed as a school bus driver for the Franklin County School System. She then became a devoted homemaker and enjoyed the time taking care of her beloved family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her flower garden, spending time with her four-legged best friend, Tom, and traveling anywhere her family would go. Her family will remember her loving and caring nature, as she was the rock of the family, and her fashionable style. Jean was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Bobby H. Garrett; son, Tim Garrett; grandson, Timmy Garrett; great-grandson, Baby Max Redwine; brothers, Douglas (Nadine) Walker, and Fred (Kathleen) Walker; sister, Jewel (June) Arnold; son-in-law, Rick Riel; and brother-in-law, Glenn Laster. Jean is survived by her loving children, Terry Garrett of Belvidere, Donna North of Shelbyville, Bobbie Jean Riel of Winchester, and Karen Gardner of Belvidere; daughter-in-law, Shelley Garrett; grandchildren, Glen (Kathy) Garrett, Teresa (Steven) Fortner, Corey Garrett, Haley Garrett, Terri Lynn (Chris) Holliday, Jamie Garrett, Erika Weaver, and Ryan (Jessica) Gardner; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Gardner, Cooper Gardner, Abigail (Joshua) Hunter, River Holliday, Finn Holliday, Ocean Holliday, Ethan Fortner, Noah Brown, Tyler Frizzell, Alexis Garrett, and Blake Garrett; and sisters, Bobbie Laster and Linda (Jimmy) Marrs. Visitation will be from 2-4pm on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
