Wanda J. Wilson, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at NMMC-Tupelo. She was born on September 25, 1948, in Iuka, MS, to the late Rebon and Letha Parsons Wilson. Wanda received her education in the Lee County Public School System. She worked as a waitress at several local restaurants through the years.
Wanda was an example of what Christian mothers should be. She not only was on top of taking care of her children but any other children that needed love, support, a hot meal and a place to go. She was known to give her last dollar to anyone who needed it. As the shiny beam of light that was as bright and fiery as her red hair went dim, Wanda was met with a brighter light in her heavenly home.
Wanda’s favorite pastimes included tending her flower garden that she took pristine care of; something her hummingbirds absolutely adored. Her favorite flowers were purple zinnias and she shared the seeds with many others.
Those left to cherish her memories include her two daughters, Belinda Capps (Ralph) of Mooreville, and Gloria Filgo of Guntown; one son, Nathaniel B. Holcomb of Plantersville; one sister, Vernail Watkins; two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and seven adored felines.
A private family service will be planned at a later date.
Holland Funeral Directors – Tupelo is honored to serve her friends and family.
