Wanda Faye Whitten, age 76 of Haleyville, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at her son’s residence surrounded by loving family.

Mrs. Whitten was born on December 10, 1945 in Haleyville, AL. to George and Lonnie Mae Motes. She was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church in Haleyville.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Brother Jeff Flinn, Brother Gary Wakefield, and Pastor Jeff Whitten will officiate. Burial will be in Littleville Cemetery.

Wanda is survived by her sons, Karl Whitten and his wife Gnean, Jeff Whitten and his wife Tracy, and Kevin Whitten; daughters, Pamela Adair and her husband Stanley, Karen Sutherland and her husband Thomas, Evelyn Whitman and her husband David, and Larissa Adair and her husband Jonathan; grandchildren, Jennifer, Heath, Timothy, Jody, Jeffrey, Latasha, Drake, Dwight, Shane, Amber, Scott, Steven, Adam, Nicole, Nicolas, Austin, and Alissa; great grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Kylie, Alayah, Layla, Gabriel, Molly Mae, Cole, Gage, Cadince, Emma, Eli, Zane, Zeke, Skye, Isabella, Brianna, Jaxon, Aydric, and Areia; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, L. V. “Buck” Whitten; parents, George and Lonnie Mae Motes; sisters, Jean, Essie, Ruby, and Ila; and brothers, Freeland, Kelsey, and Hollis.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
