Wanda Faye Martin Stephens, age 84 of Cowan, passed away on April 25, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Rockwood on March 17, 1940, to the late Charlie Eugene Martin and Lydia Mae (East) Martin. Wanda worked as a sales associate at Dillard’s, where she later retired. Her hobbies included shopping, spending time with her family, and trips to the beach. Wanda will always be remembered for her beauty and her outgoing sassy, but sweet personality. She was “Nana” to all that knew her. She was a member of the Cowan First Baptist Church Family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie E. Stephens; daughter, Deborah Prince; granddaughter, Chasity Hill; and siblings, Albert Martin, Dennis “Roundman” Martin, and Betty Sue Hill. Wanda is survived by her daughters, Gail Wimley, Tammy (Darrell) Ryan; grandchildren, Brandy Carr, Brian Brown (Lauren Thomas), Amanda (Danny) Couch, Michael Ryan, and Dewayne Hill; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, JoAnn Jackson, Jean (Herschel) Smith, Tommy Martin (Libby Brown); and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 5pm-8pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 2pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Chuck Stines officiating. Interment will follow at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery.
