Wanda Duckworth Sullivan, age 89, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Saturday, November 11, 2023, at her residence.
She was born in Delina, Tennessee, on May 10, 1934, to the late Clyde and Elizabeth Richardson Duckworth.
She would attend Cornersville School for 12 years and graduated valedictorian of the Class of 1952. In June 1952, she would marry her sweetheart of the previous five years, J. B. Sullivan. They were married in a small ceremony in the front yard of Delina Church of Christ in the front seat of their car while the preacher married them from the outside. They would be married 53 years prior to his passing in September of 2005.
During those years and beyond, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister in Christ and homemaker. She had many interests and talents from reading, crocheting, cooking and all-around loving and caring person. But, her knowledge in her family history and genealogy surpassed it all except for her knowledge of the Bible and studying thereof.
Wanda was a member of Hardin Chapel Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Lizzie; husband J. B. Sullivan; dear uncle, Kenneth Duckworth; special friend and “sister” Jewell Wright Cashion.
She is survived by one daughter, Dana (William) Wells of Lewisburg; granddaughter, Stacy (Mike) Thompson of Lewisburg; her precious great grands, Rhett and Harper, and numerous friends and family members who held her dear.
Graveside Service will be conducted on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Medium Cemetery in Delina, Tennessee, with burial to follow.
