Walyn Ray Hall Walyn Ray Hall passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at his home. His visitation will be Sunday, August 11 at 2:00 pm. Funeral will be at 3:00 pm at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur.

Ray was born May 15, 1929, to Earl and Ruth (Vinson) Hall on the Sid Hall Farm in the Mount Hope community of Lawrence County, AL.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife Mary Catherine Chandler Hall, his parents, brothers Eldred Hall and Bill Hall, sisters Louise Fretwell and JoAnn Walker, and granddaughter-in-law Chelsea Clark Lanier.

He is survived by his wife Anita Cook Hall, daughter Nena Hall Lanier, granddaughters Lori Neville (Mike), Kristel Lanier, Rachel Lanier, grandson Daniel Lanier, great-grandsons Leelan Neville and Caleb Lanier, special nephew Kenny Hall, stepdaughter Tammy Boldin, step-grandchildren Brandy May and Zachary Boldin, three step great-grandchildren, and one step great-great grandchild.

Ray was a source of love and positive influence not only to his family, but to many others. He believed in hard and honest work and would help anyone willing to help themselves. He owned and operated Central Air, Inc from 1958 to 1997 in Decatur, AL.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Lanier, Mike Neville, Kenny Hall, Josh Hall, Johnny Childers, and David Hembree.

Honorary Pallbearers are Leelan Neville, Kenneth Reid, and Richard Simon.
