Walter “Thomas” White of Santa Fe, age 65, passed away on May 6, 2020, at Maury Regional.
Thomas was born on December 9, 1954, in Maury County to Wesley White and Bessie Rainey White. He was married to the love of his life, Donna (Kelley) White for 47 years.
He retired with 38 years of service from UCAR/Graf Tech. After his retirement he was a bus driver for Maury County Schools.
Thomas loved his family, especially spoiling his granddaughter with $5 dollar bills every time he saw her. He enjoyed riding horses and taking care of his cattle, riding his John Deere tractor and absolutely loved to aggravate people and make them laugh. His passion was always helping others. He attended Swan Creek Baptist Church in Hampshire, where his wife is pianist.
He is survived by his loving wife: Donna (Kelley) White of Santa Fe; Daughter: Stacey (Jordon) Shaw of Columbia; his granddaughter who was his pride and joy: Jacey Jewell Shaw; Brothers: James (Vivian) White of Fairview, Roger (Teresa) White of Williamsport; Sisters: Viola Mangrum of Franklin, Maybell Coward of Gallatin, Mary Smith of Rockvale, Elizabeth (Jan) Heintzelman of Fort Wayne, IN, Patsy (James) Lynch of Lafollette, Dorothy (Allen) Coffelt of Hixson, Susan Roland of Mt. Pleasant; Mother-in-law: Naomi Warren Kelley of Santa Fe; Sister-in-law: Deborah Kelley Parker of Centerville; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by; Father: Wesley White; Mother: Bessie Rainey White; Father-in-law: John Calvin Kelley; Brother: Carl White; Sister: Sarah Roper; and Brothers-in-law: Dennis Kelley, Larry Parker, W. G. Mangrum, Doug Smith, and Cecil Coward.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Williams Funeral Home, Columbia at 2p.m. Burial will follow at Santa Fe Cemetery. Brother Chris Gowen will be officiating.
Pallbearers: Roger White, James White, Steve Davis, Andy Davis, Timmy White, Byron White, Mike Beard, and John Willie Harville.
Honorary Pallbearers: Retired employees of Graf Tech/UCAR/Union Carbide and Fairview Saddle Club.
