Mr. Walter Ray Vest, 73, a resident of Deatsville, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. from New Center Baptist Church with Minister Mark Walden officiating. Mr. Vest is preceded in death by his parents, Hollis and Allaray Vest; sister, Francis Duvall; and son, Kenneth “KV” Vest.
He is survived by son, Walter Shane Vest; daughter, Aleta Marie Oliver (Mark); seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Sanders. Mr. Vest retired as chief law enforcer for the Alabama Forestry Commission where he served the State of Alabama for over 25 years. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
