Walter Lee Epps, 88, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Generations of Red Bay. He was born in Dennis, MS to William Elbridge and Annie Malone Epps. He was retired from Sunshine Homes after 35 years.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 26, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. David Holcomb officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, September 26, 11-1. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Lourie Epps and her children; daughter, Brenda Hutcheson (Melvin); son, Thomas Epps (Patty); grandchildren, Chris Hutcheson (Miranda), Brannon Hutcheson (Malinda), Kayla McGee (Adam) and Jessica Boyd (Chris); seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and one brother, Thurman Epps.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of over forty years, Fern Epps; his parents; and sisters, Gracie Spearman, Rachel Winchester, Nellie Ann Clark, Genner Rae Parrish and Ortha Mae Brown.
Pallbearers will be Chris Hutcheson, Brannon Hutcheson, Chris Boyd, Carson McGee, Kalem McGee and Andrew Moss.
