Walter J. Love, 95, passed away June 5. He was the son of Walter Love, Sr. and Mary Poole Love, born June 3, 1919, in Savannah, Tennessee.
Walter served in the Army during World War II, stationed in Berlin, Germany. He worked for ASARCO, a copper refinery, and after 25 years retired in 1975.
He was preceded in death by his four sisters, Ella Smith, Ethal Reed, Elsie Cromwell, and Rada Cromwell; and two brothers, Rev. Robert (Bob) Love and Wilbur Love.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Shelby Alexander Love; three daughters, Janice Drew, Brenda McWhorter of Amarillo, Texas, and Laura Love of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Walter had six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by stepchildren, Neda Hargis and her husband, Hayes, and M.D. (Buzz) Alexander, all of Franklin, Tennessee; two step-granddaughters, Camille Chester of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Stephanie Bogue and husband, Jason of Franklin, Tennessee; two step-grandsons, Reed and Ben Alexander of Franklin, Tennessee.
