Walter Hugh Holt, III Walter Hugh Holt, III, age 40, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at St. Thomas West Hospital. In passing, he unselfishly donated his organs so that others could have the gift of a renewed life.

 

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Dedra Campbell officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on July 7, 1983, in Maury County, Walter was the son of Walter Hugh Holt, Jr. and Mary Kay LaRue (Mark) Morton. He dedicated several years of his life working for Hygrade Metal Moulding in Mt. Pleasant. Walter found joy in the outdoors, particularly in fishing and taking trips to the mountains and the beach. An adventurous soul, he loved going on random, spontaneous drives. Walter was also a passionate sports enthusiast, and was an avid NASCAR, Alabama football, and Tennessee Titans fan. Above all, he cherished spending quality time with his family and friends.

 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Angela Marie Milner Holt, children, Mackenzie Renee Holt, Savannah Nichole Holt, Devin James Holt, brothers, Charles Eugene Holt (Rhonda) Hodge, Robert Paul (Amanda) Dalton, Isaiah Morton, nieces and nephews, Andrew Hodge, Shyann and Arionna Clark, Devin, Emma, and Parker Dalton, aunts and uncles, Arleen (Bob) Moore, Linda (Bobby) Thompson, Betty (Mark) Savage, Laura (Jeff) Holt, Melinda LaRue Brock, Charles Elvin LaRue, Jr., and cousins, Deanna (Nicholas) Nay, Shaun (Ashley) Nay, Vanessa (Steven) Berry, Kimberly (Billy) Birdsong, Krystal Mitchell, Michael (Mandy) Holt, Preston (Brianna) Holt, Jonathon (Ashley) Holt, Daniel (Madison) Holt, Austin Holt, Chris Henson, Brandy Henson, Nathan Henson, Jimmy Marshall, Nathan Runions, Ashley Nance, Chris Hodge, Daniel Hodge, Jason Nance, Misty Nance, and Beth Lott.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gladys & Walter H. Holt, Sr. and Patricia & Charles Elvin LaRue, Sr.

 

Proudly serving as pallbearers will be Jonathon Holt, Daniel Holt, Preston Holt, Shaun Nay, Michael Holt, and Austin Holt. Honorary pallbearers will include Jacob Russell, Lucas Nay, and his work family at Hygrade.

 

The family expresses deep gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the third-floor ICU at St. Thomas West Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion during this difficult time.
