Walter Carroll KirbyWalter Carroll Kirby, age 69 of Adams, TN passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Springfield with Bro. Steve Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Cemetery with Drew Kirby, Cole Savage, John Hooton, Tracy Todd and Jon Davidson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 4th from 4pm to 8pm and again on Tuesday, October 5th from 12pm until time of service at the funeral home.
Walter was born in Nashville, TN on July 28, 1952 to the late Walter D. and Anna Avalee Dyer Kirby. He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Grant Kirby.
He attended Hilldale Church of Christ and was a truck driver for Roadway Express. He was the former owner of the Bell Witch Cave in Adams, TN. He loved his wife of 49 years, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and most anything outdoors. He also enjoyed softball and baseball games when the children or grandchildren were playing.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helen Weths Kirby of Adams; children, Melinda Carol Savage of Pleasant View, John Bryan (Valarie) Kirby of Houston, TX, Candy Elizabeth (John) Hooton of Hopkinsville, KY; grandchildren, Cole (Katlyn) Savage, Sydney Kirby, Kalie Morrison, Drew Kirby, Kara Hooton, Ellie Kirby, Autumn Savage, Hunter Hooton, Sierra Hooton; great-grandchildren, Joseph Savage and Brooklyn Savage.
