Walter Allen “Sambo” Decatur, age 68 of Jasper, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Walker Baptist Medical Center.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Sipsey. Jay Trayal will officiate.
Mr. Decatur was preceded in death by his Father-Earskin Decatur; Mother-Jeanette Decatur.
He is survived by his Wife-Wanda Decatur; Son-Gary Decatur (Sanika); Daughter-Dana Trayal (Jay); Grandchildren-Malia, Cole, Garriyonna, Gary Jr., Kiley, Jacie Christian and Ashton; Great Grandson-Ryder; Sisters-Darlene Hunt, Joyce Hancock (Steve) and Gail Dockins (Dale); Host of nieces and nephews.
