Walter A. “Bud” Grissom

Mr. Walter A. “Bud” Grissom age 93 died Friday, March 18, 2022 in Murfreesboro, TN. He was born March 07, 1929, in Laurel Cove, TN, was a retired heavy duty tow truck operator, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a member of the American Legion. Bud was involved in Antique vehicle restoration, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Association, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Ohio Towing Association. Mr. Grissom was preceded in death by his parents Walter A. Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Galloway Grissom, brother Joe Grissom, and sisters Emma Hitchcock and Wanda Hillis.

 

Survivors include his wife of 74 years Jimmie Roberts Grissom, son and daughter-in-law Walt and Christine Grissom, brother John Grissom, grandchildren Matt (Mandy) Grissom, Jason (Katy) Grissom, and Jenny (Dalton) Reeves, and great grandchildren Aubrey Grissom, Andrew Grissom, and Josie Grissom.

 

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Walt Grissom will officiate. A private family interment will follow in Long Cemetery in Spencer, TN. Military Grave Rites will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and V.F.W. Post 5064. The Grissom Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday and again Tuesday from 12:00 P.M. Noon until 1:00 P.M. in the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
