Wally Kendall Gay, 73, of Moulton, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, AL. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM on Wednesday, April 03, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Moulton Memory Gardens with Pastors Mickey Barnett and Donald Leggett officiating.
Born on August 2, 1950 to the late Curtis and Audrey Henley Gay, Wally retired from International Paper Mill after 28 years of service. He enjoyed racing, mechanic work, and wood working. Wally always had to be busy, sometimes even finding work to do. He enjoyed when his friends would visit him and he loved all of his animals, (we are not sure exactly how many).
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Donna Gay; children, Crissy (Joe) Boyd, Dale (Brittney) Gay, Dusty Lanier, Nikki (Josh) Dutton; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren (with another one on the way); sisters, Annette (Tony) Johnson, Nancy Haynes, and Ellen (Richard) Richardson; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lana Johnson; and brothers, Richard Gay and Barry Gay.
Pallbearers will be Tony St. Phillip, Donnie Johnson, Eddy Clemons, Rodney Davis, Chris Parker, and Ricky Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Armstrong and Ricky Phillips.
The family extends special thanks to all of the nurses and staff at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, Huntsville Hospital CCU 2, Dr. Chad McElroy, Dr. Shekar and all of their staff.
