Wallace Whitten, 85, died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the North MS Medical Center in Tupelo Mississippi. He was born April 1, 1930 to Robert and Ethel Whitten in Columbus, Georgia. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy and was stationed in Pearl Harbor. He was a longtime realtor and worked with Morelock Reality and Premier Realty. He was a member of Hilton Terrace Baptist Church. He enjoyed fixing furniture and playing the lottery.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. John Burnett officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 -1:30 at Striffler-Hamby Funeral Home. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Jumper (Randy) of Pontotoc, MS; two grandchildren, Courtney Tate and Stephanie Tate; four great-grandchildren, Dalton Hanna, Bralynn Tate, Clayton Tackett and Peiyton Tackett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara A. Whitten; one brother Glover Whitten; three sisters, Inez Louise, and Gladys; one grandson, Gary Lynn Tate.
