Wally Bryan Wallace “Wally” Donald Bryan Sr. age 82 of Lynn passed
away on Saturday, November 23 at home surrounded by
his family.

Wally was a deacon at Concord Baptist Church for 60
years and their song director for 50 years. Wally called
football and softball for 50 years. He was a member of the
AFOA Football Association and the Walker County
Softball Association. He retired from Drummonds Coal
Company after 35 years. Wally was an avid Lynn Bear
fan and attended many of their sporting events over the
years. He was also an Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

Visitation will be at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville
on Saturday, November 30 from 5-8:00p.m. for friends.

Mr. Bryan’s celebration of life will be at Concord Baptist
Church in Natural Bridge, AL on Sunday December 1. He
wil lie-in-state from 2:00-3:00. Funeral will be at
3:00p.m. Bro. Kim Byram, Bro. Junior Garmon, and Bro.
Shawn Blanton will officiate.

Wally is survived by his wife of 62 and half years, Betty
Bryan. His children, Katrina Boteler (Joey) and Don
Bryan (Tina). Grandchildren Kala Dean (Jeremy), Paige
McDaniel (Buddy), Rex Bryan and Heath Simmons. Three
great-granddaughters, Alexandria “Alex” and Elizabeth
“Lizzie” Dean and Maggie James McDaniel. One brother,
Tony Bryan and a host of nieces and nephews. A special
family Carroll and Sonya Smith and their children
Brittney Smith Porter (Shandy) and Kyle Smith (Rachel).
Brittney and Kyle affectionately knew Wally as,
“Grandaddy Wally”.

Wally was preceded in death by his parents, Banks and
Annie Bell Bryan, in-laws, George and Gay Nell Roberts,
and brother-in-law, Billy Roberts. Siblings Louise Tittle,
R.G. Bryan, J.B. Bryan, Joy Carter, Annette Davidson,
Johnny Mack Bryan and Captain Franklin “Frankie”
Bryan.

Pallbearers will be Joey Boteler, Rex Bryan, Tim
Courington, Jeremy Dean, Buddy McDaniel, Heath
Simmons, and Kyle Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the AFOA
Football Association and the Walker County Softball
Association.

The family request that any members of the AFOA
Football Association and Walker County Softball
Association, whether attending the visitation and/or
funeral to wear you Officials shirt.
