Wadene Tull Ray was born October 12, 1934 in McNairy County, TN, the daughter of the late Wade and Lou Effie Whitten Tull. She was united in marriage to Johnson Ray on November 17, 1950. She was a retired RN. She had worked for the McNairy County Home Health Department and later for Western Mental Health as Assistant Director of Nursing. Wadene was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Bethel Springs, TN where she loved teaching her Sunday School Class. She also enjoyed flowers and cooking for her family and others.
Mrs. Ray departed this life on June 3, 2016 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 7 Months, 22 Days.
She is survived by her husband Johnson Ray of Selmer, TN; a son, Robert Stanley Ray and wife Glenda of Selmer, TN; three grandchildren: Christopher Alan Ray of Knoxville, TN, Jonathan Wesley Ray of Knoxville, TN, Stanley Wade Ray and wife Tiffany of Corinth, MS; two sisters, Kay Hurst of Bethel Springs, TN, Jackie Cox and husband Robert of Selmer, TN; daughter-in-law, Beth Ray of Henderson, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs Ray was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Alan Ray and a brother, Phillip B. Tull.
