William-Hodge-1427209778Mr. W. T. “Bill” Hodge, Jr., age 89 of Medon, Tennessee, departed this life Monday night, March 23, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Hodge was born in Hardeman County to the late William Terry, Sr. and Maude Crawford Hodge on Sunday, August 9, 1925. He graduated with the Class of 1944 from Middleton High School. On Friday, July 24, 1964, he was united in marriage to Gwyne Hodge, who survives. He worked as a carpenter for Kroger stores, retiring in 1975, and also worked for National Tea, and H & H Construction. He was a good man whose favorite pastimes included farming and working with cows, hunting, fishing, and playing golf.

Past residences include Memphis for several years, the Hebron community for 22 years, and Madison County for 17 years. Prior to moving to southern Madison County, where he was a member of the Malesus Baptist Church, he was a member at Hebron Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer.

Along with his wife of 51 years, he is survived by his daughters, Linda Horner and husband Chuck of Hayward, California, and Beverly Donaldson and husband Charles of Jackson; grandchildren, Keith Donaldson, Brian Donaldson, Karen Dew, Christal Castro, and Aaron Horner; and great-grandchildren, Kelli Donaldson, Braden Donaldson, Dylan Donaldson, Austin Dew, Mae Horner, Anna Horner, E. J. Horner, Keagan Castro, and Brayden Castro.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Hodge and Wilburn Hodge.

Charitable contributions made in memory of Mr. Hodge may be sent to the Malesus Baptist Church.
