Funeral Service for W.C. Wheeles, age 93, of Lineville, AL will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 11:00 am. at Lineville Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Cummings and Rev. Jerry Colquett officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens at 802 Golden Springs Road in Anniston, AL at 2:00 P.M.
Mr. Wheeles was born in Clay County. He grew up on the farm and has always enjoyed working, gardening and piddling outside and in his shop. By trade Mr. Wheeles worked for several years with AESCO as an Iron worker and steel fabricator, also drove a school bus for a while. Mr. Wheeles was a member of Lineville Baptist Church and the Victors Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen H. Wheeles; son, Alan Wheeles and Darlaine of Talladega; sister, Nadine Kennedy of Ashland and a large extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James William Wheeles and Mary Eunice Walls Wheeles; sisters, Angie Denney, Mamie Kennedy, Glenda Amason and Ida W. Randall; brothers, John Wheeles and Mike Wheeles.
Pallbearers will be Lewis Harrison, Jeff Gibson, Chris Smith, Buddy Griffin, Mark Griffin and David Proctor.
The family will receive friends before the service from 10 until 11 at Lineville Baptist Church.
Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville is in charge of arrangements.
