Vuin Edward Epps, 92, of Birmingham, AL passed away, Monday, September 25, 2023 in Birmingham. He was the son of the late Vuin Washington Epps and the late Maxine Hughes Epps.  Vuin Edward Epps was born in Red Bay, AL on September 14, 1931.  He was the grandson of James Pleasant Epps, who was one of the founders of Red Bay, AL, and wife Eva Waldrep Epps, Done H. Hughes and Bell Berry Hughes of Vina, AL.  Vuin Edward graduated in 1949 from Red Bay High School.  Ed left Red Bay after graduation and graduated from Auburn University in 1953 and The Atlanta Law School in 1957.  Ed, as he preferred to be called, lived in the Atlanta area and owned and operated Ed Epps Piano and Organ Co., Toco Hills Medical Building and was president of E & B Real Estate & Development, Inc. He was a member of the Board of Directors of The Bank of Georgia, Board of Directors of Tri City Savings & Loan Association and owner of Ed Epps Financial.  He served on the College Park, GA city council, was a member of First Baptist Church of College Park, a Mason and a member of The Air Port Kiwanis Club.  Ed and his wife, Ruth H. Epps, moved to their beach home in 1995 where he enjoyed his cats and looking at the water in the gulf and his flowers while enjoying his morning coffee.

Ed continued his keen interest in the stock market and spent most of his time since moving to Panama City, FL trading stocks, managing his investments and serving others to provide for their future which he enjoyed very much and traveling.

Services will be Thursday, September 28, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Glen Vinson officiating.  Visitation will be 12 until service time. Burial will be in Belmont City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his daughter- in- law, Pamela Epps; granddaughters, Dr. Evan Nicole Boyett and husband, Dr. Daniel Boyett and Dr. Alexandra Olivia Giambrone and husband, Dr. Pete Giambrone; great-grandchildren, Callie Lynn Boyett, Hanna Nicole Boyett, Jamie Rose Boyett, Thomas Pete Giambrone IV, Avery James Giambrone and Savannah Rayne Giambrone; step-sons, Marty Hall and wife, Julie and Joey Hall and wife, Karissa; step-grandchildren, Marly Garcia and husband, Nick Garcia and their son, Louis, Dr. Jacob Hall and wife, Dr. Mackenzie Hall, Fletcher Hall, Ben Hall, Baker Hall, Mason Hall and Mina Hall.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Anita Merlyne Hall Epps, his second wife, Ruth Epps and his son, Dr. James Edward Epps.

His favorite song was “My Way” as it was the way he lived his life.
