Vonia D. Byerley, age 93, Hamilton, AL., passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Northwest Medical Center. She was born in Hamilton Alabama on Thursday, April 13, 1922 to Alvin Frye and Emma Jeffreys Frye.
She was inducted by Franklin D. Roosevelt under executive order to the war man power commission from April 01, 1942- March 31,1943. She was also a dietitian at Children’s Hospital, and the Carraway Hospital in Birmingham and Oak Forest Hospital in Chicago Ill.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 16, 2015, 12-2:00 p.m. at Marion County Funeral Home. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel with burial in Hamilton Memory Gardens. Bro. Bobby Duncan officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Byerley; parents, Alvin & Emma Frye; and thre siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Donna Weeks, and husband, Bill, Dana Byerley, and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Todd Weeks and Carley Byerley, great-grandchildren, Chad weeks and Tara Weeks; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Marion County Funeral Home assisted the family.
