Vonda Lonnet Hodges – Obituary

VondaVonda Lonnet Hodges, 67, of Killen, passed away May 31, 2013, at ECM Hospital. Lonnet was a native and lifelong resident of Lauderdale County, a graduate of Coffee High School and employed by the U.S. Department of Commerce for 17 years. She was a hard worker who possessed an unselfish love and concern for others. Lonnet had a caring nurturing heart that could be funny and make you enjoy a good laugh. Lonnet operated Joe’s Grocery Store on old Lexington road for a number of years. She met and married Larry Joe Hodges at Stony Point Church of Christ where she was a long time member. She also enjoyed attending Faith Church of Florence for a number of years and being a member of the Red Hat Society.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 1, 2013, from 5-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. A graveside service will be Sunday, June 2, 2013, at 3 p.m. in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with Tommy James officiating.

Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Lois Berryman Thrasher; father and mother-in-law, Wilson and Lois Hodges.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry Joe Hodges; sons, Jason and Jody Hodges; grandchildren, Casey, Breanna and Bailie Hodges; her pet dog, Little Bear.

Active pallbearers will be Casey Hodges, Gary White, Mack Erwin, Charles Krieger, Jimmy Dodd, Jody Hodges and Jason Hodges.

Jerry Furnari and Eddie Staggs will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Lauderdale County Animal Shelter.
