Vonda Lambert Bates, known as Maw Maw by most, passed away on February 16, 2024, at the age of 86. Ms. Bates was born in Cullman County, Alabama, on November 13, 1937, to Vester John and Nellie Estes Lambert.
Vonda was a homemaker who enjoyed crafting and sewing. She loved her boys, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and her sweet and gentle spirit will be missed greatly.
Ms. Bates is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Bates; son, Eddie Dewayne Bates; brothers, Clinon Lambert and Donald Lambert.
Vonda is survived by two sons, Danny Bates (LeeAnn), David Bates; sister, Carol May; grandchildren, Johnathan, Brent, Corey, Brody, Brashell; great-grandchildren, Aurora, Lenni Jane, Saylor, Stella, and Sterling.
Funeral services for Ms. Vonda will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, February 19, 2024, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. A time of visitation will be held prior to services, beginning at 12 noon. Ms. Bates will be buried alongside her husband in Baileyton Cemetery.
